Series Synopsis

Blue Belts is a comedic mockumentary-style series that follows Jamie and his ragtag group of students—each with their own set of personal issues—as they navigate the ups and downs of running a failing jiu jitsu gym. From desperate attempts to sign new members to dealing with the drama and insecurities within the team, Jamie's efforts to keep the school alive are often met with setbacks. As the series unfolds, the students become more invested in both their training and each other’s lives, forming a tight-knit, if dysfunctional, family.

Blue Belts is a seamless blend of heartfelt authenticity, cynical wit, and irreverent humor, capturing both the comedic absurdities and poignant realities of life inside the gym. The humor is raw, self-aware, and often driven by the awkward, unfiltered dynamics between the gym’s misfit members and their well-meaning but overwhelmed leader. Whether it’s a TikTok-inspired disaster or an unfortunate ringworm infection, the comedy shines through life’s small, chaotic moments. But, beneath the sharp one-liners and ridiculous situations are deeply human stories about failure, resilience, and the quest for belonging and purpose.
